ALBANY, GA -- It's never easy beating the same team back to back, but that was exactly the task sitting in front of the Albany Panthers Saturday night. Last week, Albany squeaked by the Louisiana Swashbucklers 58-55 last week in Lake Charles.

At the Albany Civic Center, the Panthers took complete control in the second half and never let go. Albany moves to 3-0 with the 58-32 win over the Swashbucklers. The Panthers outscored their opponent 27-7 in the second half to complete the blowout, but a Panthers victory never seemed to be in doubt.

Special teams play sparked two Panthers touchdowns in the first half. A botched Swashbuckler’s hold led to a 15 yard touchdown from Cecil Lester to Antwone Savage in the first quarter. A blocked kick recovered by linebacker Corey Rue spurred another Lester touchdown to Antwontis Cutts.

Fullback Derrick Wimbush scored on the Panthers first possession with a three yard run.

The Panthers remain the only undefeated team in the PIFL. A bye week await Albany next week before traveling to the Knoxville Nighthawks
