ALBANY, GA --
The Darton College Golf team begins their stretch run for another region championship this week. The Cavaliers upcoming tournament should bring back some fond memories for Darton Head Coach Bill Jones III.

After a month away from the competitive course, the Cavs travel to Scottsboro, Alabama for the Ron Marshall Spring Fling. Goose Pond Colony was the site of Darton’s national championship victory in 2007. Jones was a medalist member on that Cavalier team.

This season, sophomores Joe Sakulpolphaisan and Shad Tuten have been the epitome of consistency, but the freshman will play a big role on how far this Cavalier team goes.

“The freshman really are starting to come around...they're getting really good and we're starting to post some numbers now in practice that we hadn’t posted in the fall, so that's really promising too,” Tuten said.

“Good play spurs on good play. As long as a couple of them start playing well, it puts pressure on the other ones to step it up…and usually that's what happens,” Coach Jones said.
