ALBANY, GA -- One month of the season down for the Darton College softball team and the Cavaliers have 20 wins to show for it.
The Darton softball team worked around the weather to sweep Wallace-Dothan 9-0, 9-4 Thursday afternoon. Now, the Cavaliers complete the home and home against the Governors in Alabama next Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, Amanda Jaskolski lined a three-run homerun over the center field wall giving the Cavs an 8-0 lead. Pitcher Katy Jordan cleaned up from there. Jordan struck out 10 giving up just one hit in the five-inning victory.
In game two, the Cavs were powered by a cluster of homers. Jaskolski led off the game with a solo shot. Jessica Vason added another solo strike in the fifth, and Chelsea Showers capped off the barrage with a two-run shot in the sixth. In the game two victory, pitcher Jenny Willis moved her record to 6-0.
