LEESBURG, GA -- The Lee County baseball team opens it 2012 season in the best way possible. Healthy and stocked with plenty of live arms

The Trojans are back on the diamond preparing for their first games of the season in this weekend’s Greatest Show on Dirt Invitational.

Vital pieces to the rotation return to the pitching staff after missing the entire 2011 season. While Senior Shortstop Jess Posey has fully recovered from his own injury struggles.

The team has also moved on from last year's first round playoff loss. The Trojans say they're keeping that early exit in the past- right where it belongs.

“We just got unlucky sometimes and that's baseball. Baseball's a weird sport. You win sometimes but it's all about when you're hot and when you're not,” Posey said.

“If you can pitch and keep 'em close you got a chance to win late in the game- I just keep saying that over and over, but our top two guys didn't throw a pitch last year and to have them back ready to go...that's just very exciting,” Trojan Head Coach Robert Williams said.

All games for this weekend’s Greatest Show on Dirt Invitational will be played at Lee County High School. The Westover Patriots and Schley County kick off the round of games Thursday at 6 PM.

Locally, Lee County and Westover square off against each other Friday at 4:30 PM. While Saturday is a fully booked schedule at Trojan Field, Lee County plays two of the three scheduled games- the first at 3 PM against Centennial High School and the second against Schley at 6 PM.
