MACON, GA -- Former Dougherty head football coach Jesse Hicks has found a new home.

The Trojan coach is now in charge at Central (Macon) High School. Hicks was approved by the Bibb County School Board, and confirmed the hiring through a text message Thursday night.

Hicks will be jumping from one rebuilding project to another. The coach finished his two seasons at Dougherty with a 3-17 record. Central Macon struggled to a 2-8 record in 2011.

Hicks is no stranger to the Central Georgia football landscape. Before coaching at Dougherty, Hicks led 3A Baldwin for eight seasons finishing with a 70-24 record.
