ALBANY, GA -- The Darton College women's basketball team returns to the court on Friday with two daunting tasks on the schedule. However, Cavaliers Head Coach Lea Henry is certain a holiday hangover will not be one of them.
The Cavs coach has been pleased with her team's first three practices since returning from a week long break on Monday. The women’s team will certainly need that shot of energy in the upcoming South Georgia Tech Classic.
This season, the Cavs have scored efficiently with the second best field goal percentage in the nation currently. DC will need those same shots to fall in facing nationally ranked opponents 13.) Chipola College and 2.) Northwest Florida State College.
Coach Henry knows the chances of winning this weekend are stacked against her team facing the 13th and 2nd best teams in the nation. Henry hopes this weekend will serve as another grading period for her young team before region play restarts on Jan. 5.
Host school South Georgia Tech faces the same gauntlet as Darton in the four team field. The 7-7 Jets will follow both Cavalier games on Friday and Saturday. Darton tips off against Chipola at 4 PM on Friday, and Northwest Florida State at 12 PM on Saturday.
