ALBANY, GA -- Albany State football player Jamarkus Gaskins has picked up countless postseason awards for his stellar 2011 season. The Tifton-native added another one to the mantle on Thursday.

Gaskins was named to the Daktronics Division Two All-American team as a first team linebacker, but that wasn’t the biggest honor Gaskins received.

The linebacker was voted the Ron Lenz Division Two Defensive Player of the Year. It’s been a busy offseason for Gaskins

The senior has already snagged the Super Region Two and SIAC Defensive Player of the Year. The Tifton product led the conference with 11 sacks and totaled 73 tackles during the Golden Rams 8-4 campaign.

Gaskins was the only SIAC player named to the All-American list.
