ALBANY, GA -- Deerfield Windsor basketball didn’t receive the homecoming it expected against Mount Vernon Academy. The Knights were playing their first home game of the season against a quality team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season.

The Knights were bested by the Mustangs once again on Saturday losing 55-45. Deerfield trailed 19-6 after the first quarter in their first loss of the season.

The Deerfield girl’s team defeated Mount Vernon 48-31 on Saturday thanks to a big first half. The Knights led 31-13 after two quarters, and even after struggling to score through much of the third held on to their lead.

Both teams play Mount De Sales on Tuesday evening.
