ALBANY, GA -- The Albany State Golden Rams season appeared to end on Saturday’s last second loss to Miles College. It seemed like no SIAC title, no playoffs for the Golden Rams.
Perception isn’t always reality, and the Albany State Golden Rams are looking clearly into the playoff bracket. Albany State received the sixth and final seed in the NCAA Super Region Two bracket on Sunday.
ASU moved up a spot in the rankings from last week even after the 20-17 loss to Miles on Saturday. It's the 13th total playoff appearance for Albany State and eighth straight for the Golden Rams and head coach Mike White.
With the top two seeds in the region receiving a bye, Albany State faces the third-seeded North Greenville Crusaders next Saturday in Tigerville, North Carolina at 12 PM.
Valdosta State is the team on the outside looking in. The Blazers garnered the sixth spot in last week’s rankings. However, VSU lost to North Alabama on Saturday 30-23.
