ALBANY, GA -- It happened again to the Westover Patriot football team.

The Patriots (2-3, 4-5) lost another game by single-digits. Westover sits on the fringe of the AAA playoffs with one regular season game remaining.

On Friday night, Westover lost 14-12 at Americus-Sumter. The Patriots have lost five games by a total of 20 points. However, Westover still holds the key to their playoff future.

With a win this week against Monroe, the Patriots will clinch the third or fourth seed in the region. However, head coach Octavia Jones can't help but look back on the missed opportunities throughout the season.

“We just got to be able to play four total quarters of football; if we get four quarters in last Friday night...we would have easily come out victorious. The message before the game was play forty eight and we didn't quite play forty eight minutes,” Jones said.
