ALBANY, GA -- The Paul Eames Sports complex will get its first chance to show off the city of Albany’s improvements and renovations this weekend.

The American Legion's Post 30 Second Annual Paul Eames Baseball tournament begins at 9 AM on Friday. The tournament named in honor of the local iconic coach, Paul Eames, has increased participation from this year to last with 13 teams traveling from Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

All the proceeds from the three-day event will go into a scholarship fund for a future high school baseball recruit in the area. Post 30 Tournament Director Don Norman said that’s the way Paul Eames wants it.

“Paul Eames, he's been here with the (Albany Recreation) department for so many years...retired from there, he coached baseball for years, and he's been an influence to these kids that have gone through,” Norman said. “They all come back to him, they all love him…we all love him.”
