ALBANY, GA -- In Major League Baseball interleague play ramped up again throughout the country, and the American Legion's Southwest Georgia Classic started today with its own version of “inter-county” games.

Post 30 of Albany and Post 182 of Leesburg played two on Friday afternoon before the rain overcame Paul Eames Sports Complex.

The Post 30 Seniors and 182 Juniors tied at three in the early game, and the 182 Seniors defeated the 30 Juniors 8-1 in game two.

Post 182 outfielder Mac Arnold connected for a home run over the left field fence, and Ryan Hickox, from Worth County, chipped in with a RBI single in the third.

Post 30 scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth on a Logan Maxwell double down the third base line.

The Classic restarts at 10 am on Saturday.
