LOCUST GROVE, GA -- Darton College softball can now officially make plans for Utah.

St. George, Utah is the home for the 2011 NJCAA Softball World Series, and the Cavaliers will be one of the sixteen teams heading west in two weeks for the national tournament.

Darton’s 2-1 championship win on Sunday against Georgia Perimeter happened in a similar fashion to the 2-1 victory over that same Jaguars squad on Saturday.

With clutch homeruns.

A Jane Egiazarova ninth inning walk-off home run on Saturday moved the Cavs to the finals, and in the rematch on Sunday a Brittny Dennison homerun broke a 1-1 tie to clinch the title for DC.

Cavs pitcher Katy Lewis was the tournament MVP. Lewis threw 16 innings in the three games including the final two in Sunday’s victory.
