ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Panthers hosted a tailgate celebration before their game against the Richmond Raiders, and the cats were hoping that the festivities would continue after a win on Saturday night.

No police are busting up this one. The 2011 Panthers party is still going strong.

After a 61-46 victory against the Raiders at the James H. Gray Civic Center on Saturday, the Panthers move to a 7-0 record.

The last play of the second quarter set up the Panthers offensive tone for the rest of the game.

From the team’s own end zone, Panthers quarterback Cecil Lester bombed a ball to the corner that Antoine Savage snagged for a touchdown as time expired in the half. Halftime lead for Albany 27-23.

First offensive drive of the second half for the Panthers ended in a Lester - Antwontis Cutts connection for another score. The Panthers would go on to add 28 more points to win this one comfortably.

Panther defensive back Demtrie McCray anchored the defense with three interceptions in the game, and frustrated Raiders quarterback Mike Potts all night.
