ALBANY, GA -- The Panthers started up practice again tonight after last week’s bye. Recent Panthers history shows that last week’s days off will not create any kinks in Albany’s well-oiled machine for Saturday’s game against the Alabama Hammers.
In 2010, the Panthers experienced a week off at the exact same point in the schedule and the team came back well-rested. The 2010 version of the Panthers defeated the Louisiana Swashbucklers 42-26 moving to 4-0.
Panthers head coach Lucious Davis understands this is a different team, but doesn’t expect a much different result.
“I’m not really worried. I think that’s the good thing I have with having a bunch of veteran players. They know what to do…we know we have to come back and be ready to play. I’m just glad were playing at home and not on the road,” Davis said.
NOTE: Starting linebacker Larry Edwards will be sidelined for at least the next two games. Edwards is dealing with a knee injury from game two.
