LEE COUNTY, GA -- Lee County split a tough non-region series with 5A Centennial on Monday and Tuesday. The Trojans lost on Monday in 10 innings 10-6 and won Tuesday 8-5. The two-game set kept the Trojans steady at .500  overall for the season.

Back to the region schedule for Lee County on Friday night, and the Trojans needed wins. The visiting Bainbridge Bearcats provided for Lee.

The Bearcats have failed to notch a win in 4A- Region 1, and Lee County (10-8, 6-3) kept Bainbridge (6-10, 0-7) that way. The Trojans won game one in five innings 13-3, and game two 8-0 in a Friday doubleheader.

The Lee County offense started early in game two. In the first inning, Pedro Cruz doubled to the wall, and reached home on a Chase Griffin single up the middle. That run gave pitcher Chase Burnfin enough support for the win.

Burnfin worked quickly in the first two innings with 3 strikeouts, and held the Bearcats scoreless through the night.

The wins for Lee County put the team in a three-way tie for second place with Hardaway and Warner Robbins. Lee faces non-region opponent 5A Lowndes at home on April 13th.
