ALBANY, GA -- Albany Panthers quarterback Cecil Lester has improved with age. And he'll admit it, if you ask him.

Lester has added almost everything to a professional resume’…championships, individual awards, and passing records all come to mind. This year, Lester has added the most valuable skill-- maturity.

The game has slowed down for the two-time indoor football champion. Lester was recently named the PIFL’s Offensive Payer of the Week tallying five touchdowns in a 51-40 season opening road win at Louisiana.

Panthers head coach Lucious Davis went as far as to say Saturday was the best performance from his starting quarterback.

“He's improved a lot. His decision making this past Saturday was probably the best I've seen during the regular season in his three years,” Davis said.

“My preparation is the biggest part of my week. Just being prepared Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday...then coming out and having fun on Saturday,” Lester said.

A dominating home record means pressure on the Panthers. Albany hasn’t lost at the Albany Civic Center in two seasons, a perfect 16-0. Davis says Phoebe Field is comfortable, but there’s also an intense expectation to win.
