ALBANY, GA -- Before the season began, Darton State baseball was cautious about national ranking expectations. Who could blame them based off a rather difficult early schedule?

On Wednesday, the Cavaliers faced 11th-ranked Gulf Coast and padded the season resume’ a little bit more.

The first game at Cavalier Field in a few weeks was a good one for the home team. Behind eight scoreless innings from A.J. Sunstrom, the Cavaliers earned their ninth win of the season with a 4-0 win over Gulf Coast.

Sunstrom gave up four hits and didn’t allow a walk for his fourth victory of the season. Crisp County’s Davis Adkins closed out the ninth with a strikeout.

Kyle Conkle led the Cavaliers offense going 3-3 with a run and a RBI.
