TIFTON, GA -- Tift County soccer player Carlie Couch holds the virtue of patience. Committed for two years to Furman University, the forward finally got to honor her agreement.

Couch picked Furman at the end of her sophomore year and stayed true to the school signing her letter of intent Wednesday.

The Georgia high school all-star has led the Blue Devils to the playoffs in her first three seasons scoring 43 goals with seven assists last season.

Even with schools like Georgia and Clemson calling, Couch stuck with her school relieving any recruiting pressure.

“It was a relief. Everybody else was wondering where they were going to be, but I was happy I already knew. It just made me fall in love with the school even more. I knew I was going there. I was looking forward to it more…it made everything I saw throughout the year seem even better,” Couch said.
