LEESBURG, GA -- Lee County girl’s soccer is sending four players to the college level. For the first time in school history, the soccer program will send two players to the Division One level straight out of high school.

Sarah Sheffield signed with Troy University with Carsen Taylor joining Jacksonville State. Nicole Polk is heading south to Valdosta State. While Danielle Brendel chose Columbus State.

In front of a packed Lee County gym Wednesday, the Lady Trojans considered the great opportunities ahead.

“I went on my official visit this past weekend, so I already know the girls and the coach. I'm just excited to make new friends and start out with a new team,” Sheffield said.

“It feels awesome. I can't wait to actually get to play it in college and grow. It's going to be a lot fun,” Brendel said.
