ALBANY, GA -- Nine days ago, Sherwood Christian basketball player Patrick Stanford scored his 1,000th career point. Before the Eagles tipped off Thursday, they honored their special senior that has essentially rewritten the school’s record books.

Sherwood Christian awarded Stanford a game ball signed by the people who helped build the record- his teammates. Not done for the night, Stanford added 20 points to his ledger leading the Eagles to a 58-36 win over Tiftarea.

In addition to the career point record, Stanford also holds the school's total rebounds record and the single-game points record. T.J. Clay added 14 in the SCA victory.

Tiftarea Girls Drop Sherwood

Tiftarea earns a region win over the SCA girls 49-33. Tiftarea pushed a six point lead to double digits late in the second quarter with two Rachel Thomason lay-up’s.

The Lady Eagles drop to 8-12 on the season with Thursday’s loss
