SYLVESTER, GA -- It took some time on Thursday night, but Worth County High School has found a new football coach.

The Worth County Superintendent recommended and the board of education approved Camden County assistant coach Jason Tone as the Rams newest head coach.

Like clockwork, Worth County High School set a timeline for a new coach after the resignation of Scotty Ward. Over the last month, they followed that plan cutting eight finalists down to their hire, Jason Tone.

Tone is a Valdosta-native that graduated from Lowndes high school and Valdosta State. Before coaching at Camden, Tone was the offensive coordinator at Wayne County.

Worth County reached the playoffs each of the last four seasons finishing with a total record of 20-24, but never escaped the first round.
