Westover Routs Dougherty, Record Night Helps Sherwood

ALBANY, GA -- The Westover boys set the right tone heading in to another match up with the Monroe Tornadoes.

On Friday, the Patriots handled rival Dougherty with relative ease 66-40. Westover led 40-14 at halftime cruising to the region victory. T.J. Cromer scored 15 for the Patriots with Kel Miller adding 14 in the blowout.

Michael Miller led Dougherty with nine points. Westover faces Monroe at the Albany Civic Center on Saturday. Dougherty will also be in the building against city rival Albany.

The Westover boys have lost their only two meetings with Monroe in the 2012-13 season.

Sherwood and Westwood Split in Region Meeting

Sherwood Christian’s Patrick Stanford earned hero of the night for the Eagles basketball team. Stanford scored a school record 43 points as the Eagles pulled away from Westwood in the fourth quarter, 83-69.

Stanford hit seven three pointers en route to his record breaking evening. SCA moves to 8-5, 1-1 in the region with Friday's victory.
