TURNER COUNTY, GA --
60-year-old Debra Pilkinton of Turner County is behind bars after authorities say she allegedly shot and killed her husband on Friday evening.

Turner County Sheriff Andy Hester says Pilkinton is charged with felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony for reportedly shooting and killing her husband, 62-year-old Morris Pilkinton Junior.

Officials say they received a call shortly before 8 p.m. Friday saying a man had been shot inside his home on Highway 32 East. When they arrived, they found Morris Pilkinton Jr. dead on the scene.

Sheriff Hester says the Georgia Bureau of Investigations in Perry is assisting in the case and they're still investigating the motive behind the shooting.
