ALBANY, GA -- The Darton State College Lady Cavaliers beat South Georgia Technical College 70-60, today, in the semi-final round of the GCAA/Region 17 Women’s Basketball Championship.

The win puts No. 1-seeded Darton into the championship final, scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Cavalier Arena. Darton will face Chattahoochee Technical College in the championship.

Four Lady Cavaliers scored in double-digit figures. Darton sophomore and GCAA Player of the Year, Michelle Mitchell, led with 18 points and seven assists.

Freshman Jasmine Wilson scored 16 and made 6 steals. Sophomore Chanteniece Fann scored 14 points and freshman Iesha Bonner scored 10 and led the team with 9 rebounds.

The win keeps Darton’s at-home record perfect (15-0), and improves their overall record to 28-3.
