ALBANY, GA -- Second Harvest Food Bank had a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new kitchen funded in part by the Arby's Foundation kitchen Tuesday morning.

The Arby's Foundation donated $3 million to Georgia food banks, and $100,000 went to pay for Second Harvest's Kids Cafe community kitchen.

The Kids Cafe provides a free meal, homework assistance and something for kids to do after school to promote a more productive lifestyle. When school is out for the summer, they provide all the daily meals for children.

Officials with Second Harvest say that for past two years, they have been borrowing a local church's kitchen, which limited the program to 450 kids, with 500 on the wait list.

However, with the kitchen becoming operational next week, they will be able to serve 3000 meals every five hours, leading to all of the wait listed children getting access.
