ALBANY, GA -- Water Gas & Light officials are currently on scene removing a pipe that burst Sunday morning after freezing overnight.

WG&L crews are excavating the pipe, and also removing a tree that sat above the main line. The tree's roots wrapped around the pipe and with the freezing temperatures Saturday night, crews say the break is not surprising.

Currently several homes along the 1700th block of Stuart Avenue are without water, and officials are recommending that once the water is turned back on to not drink it until told otherwise.
