Lee County Police investigating domestic dispute

LEESBURG, GA --
UPDATE:

A Lee County man is charged with aggravated assault family violence after he fired multiple shots at his ex-wife during an argument on Monday.

Officials say Paul Knight was arguing with his ex-wife about their daughter’s car being broken down when he fired a gun at her. Knight’s ex-wife wasn’t hit and no one was injured during the incident.

Knight is currently in the Lee County Jail awaiting his first appearance in front of a judge to set his bail, which officials say is expected to happen Wednesday afternoon.


ORIGINAL STORY:

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Lee County police were called to 836 Middle Road in reference to 
shots fired.

When they arrived they learned that Paul Knight fired shots at his ex-wife. 

After firing the shots officials say he ran into the woods.  Knight’s brother was able to call him and convince him to surrender to police.

Knight’s ex-wife wasn’t hurt during the incident. 

Officials say Paul Knight is in the Lee County Jail and at this time they’re still investigating in order to determine exactly what charges he’ll face.
