Neighborhood watch group helps catch teen robbers

SYLVESTER --
Two teenagers – one 16 year old and 17-year-old Shane E. Merchant -- were arrested by the Sylvester Police Department in connection to a burglary that happened on Monday.

Officials say they arrested the teens on Tuesday and Wednesday for stealing jewelry, guns, and arrowheads from a home on Pinson street.

The SPD was able to arrest the teens off of tips from a neighborhood watch group as well as recover almost all of the stolen items.

Merchant has been charged with burglary in the first degree and both teens remain in the jail as of Wednesday evening.
