CAMILLA, GA -- Sometimes lost in the shuffle of high school football's bright lights are the smaller teams with incredible winning traditions. In the GISA, the Westwood Wildcats fit that billing- always performing under those brightest of lights.

Back to back GISA-A State Champs, the Camilla school begins the climb toward a third state title this week. The 8-2 Wildcats host Briarwood Academy in the first round of the GISA-AA playoffs.

For the last two seasons, Westwood has turned on the magic as November has hit. Wildcats Head Coach Ross Worsham wants his team to do it again.

“That's kind of what we preach. You work to get to this point and you expect to play your best football. It's more exciting, it means more and you're a little bit more focused because you know if you don't take care of business, you pack it up and our kids aren't ready to pack it in,” Coach Worsham said.

Westwood plays Saturday at Camilla's Centennial Stadium at 7:30 PM. The Wildcats haven't lost a home game since 2009.
