ALBANY, GA -- The Albany State Golden Rams proclaimed Saturday night as the start of their second season.

It was the conference opener for the Golden Rams against the SIAC-favorite, Miles College Golden Bears, and a perfect opportunity for ASU to make a statement. In the end, it was the Golden Bears making all the noise.

The Albany State offense failed to produce a touchdown as Miles College ran away with a 41-6 conference victory. Albany State was nearly doubled by the Golden Bears in total offense mustering only 222 yards for the night.

Kicker Dillan Fontaine scored the only Albany State points on two first half field goals. Starting quarterback David Kooi completed 48% of his passes for 83 yards and running back Nathan Hoyte was held to 18 yards on ten carries
