ALBANY, GA -- The Deerfield-Windsor track teams hardly broke a sweat at Monday’s GISA AAA region championships. The Knights have created something more than a tradition with their 12th straight region title.

The Knights Boys team held off Sherwood Christian 144-100. On the girls side- there was no doubt. The Lady Knights beat Tiftarea by over a hundred 183-72

SCA’s Rashard Davis kept the Eagles close finishing as the high point scorer for the boys. Davis placed first in the 200m and the long jump. Lady Knight Amber Young led all girls’ scorers winning the 400m and the long jump.

The Lady Knights had two teams competing in the 4x100m relays, and Deerfield had two teams finish in first and second place. Deerfield’s Matthew Fox won the shot-put with Alex Berry taking the triple jump.

In the boys 4x100m relay, Sherwood’s M.J. Green pushed ahead of the competition in the final 100m for the first place finish.

The GISA State track meet returns to Albany’s Hugh Mills Stadium April 26-28.
