CORDELE, GA -- On the diamond, the Crisp County baseball team is undefeated at 4-0, but if you count the games the Cougars have lost to the weather- they'd be just above .500.

Rain has cost Crisp County three early season games that they're still trying to make up. That bad weather didn't afford the team a lot of time before their first region game today against Westover.

The Cougars return five starters from last season’s AAA-Region 1 Championship team, but Cougar Head Coach Bill Pate maintains this year’s team has to earn their title.

However, the team’s make-up is similar to 2011. As the Cougar pitching goes, so goes the team- and that starting rotation is still tough to beat.

“Two guys that we feel very confident in...I call them co-number ones...Robert Tyler and Davis Adkins. They're very different style pitchers but they're both very tough,” Coach Pate said. “I'm glad they're on my side and not somebody else's.”

Crisp County will be looking to continue their region winning streak Friday at Paul Eames Park. The Cougars didn’t lose a game in the region last season. First pitch against Westover is set for 5:30 PM.
