ALBANY, GA -- For Westover baseball player Nick Lane, friends and family really do matter most.

The Albany State Golden Rams picked up a new addition Thursday afternoon in the hometown product. Lane will be the second Westover player on the current Golden Ram roster. ASU starting first baseman Jacob Campbell and Lane are close friends on and off the field.

While Lane does everything for the Patriots, he is expecting to make an impact on the mound at Albany state. The Patriot emphasized his desire to take the Golden Rams to the top of the SIAC.

Ultimately, Lane says the familiarity with Campbell and the ASU team hooked him on the local Division two school.

“I won't have to start all new. I know a lot of the team. They work with me, and I work out with them. It helped a lot to influence it just because I want to have some where good where I can count on people,” Lane said.
