ALBANY, GA -- Former Deerfield-Windsor basketball player Andre Young had a short stay in Albany. Now, the Clemson Tiger returns to South Carolina for the most important stretch of his senior season.

The guard was honored to have his Deerfield-Windsor jersey retired Tuesday night. His new prize is another trip to the NCAA tournament.

Young and his Tigers are preparing for their first ACC game this weekend against Florida State. Currently, Clemson has an 8-6 record in nonconference play, but there is some recent history on their side.

The Tigers have reached the NCAA tourney four straight seasons. The former Knight has been in the purple and orange uniform for three of those years.

Young, who leads the team in scoring and is second in assists, believes his team can start another run to dance beginning with Florida State.

“We have the mindset right now, we want to get better and I think that's the most important thing. Just wanting to get better and then continuing to work...and that's something we're doing in practice and we're doing a good job of it,” Young said on Tuesday.

Clemson hosts FSU Saturday at 4 PM. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
