ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Tech women's basketball team once again has to reshuffle its Titans line-up for the 2012 season. Although, starting a season with a freshman-filled roster has become a routine for Titans Head Coach Kenneth Williams.

The Titans freshmen were alright for one night as the Lady Titans defeated Gordon College 66-22 on Thursday night. Sophomore Shakima Wiggans pitched in 20 points for Albany Tech, but the Titans spread the scoring out evenly as all by two players scored.

The Titans return only three players and one starter from the 2011 squad. The returning starter Bianca Fennessee is expected to anchor this year's team as Albany Tech once again wants to pick up the pace on offense.

“We have a lot of new faces this year...especially at the point guard position and everything so they're starting to gel but hopefully toward the middle of the season- end of the season we'll be where we need to be,” coach Williams said.

Fennessee added that there is a lot for the freshman to learn- and quickly.

“Getting them involved in the college level play fast, speeding their game up...getting them to understand that's it's not just a game anymore,” Fennessee said.

The Lady Titans face Middle Georgia Tech next Tuesday in Fort Valley.

The men's team faced Brewton-Parker for the second straight time in the regular season on Thursday night. After beating the Barons by 40 points last week, the Titans fell to Brewton 73-67.
