HANOVERTON, Ohio (AP) — A school leader in Ohio says a 12-year-old boy collapsed and later died after football practice.

United Local Superintendent RuthAnn Rinto says it's believed the boy had an asthma attack after practice Monday.

Gavin Ward had just finished practicing with his junior high team when he collapsed. His father, a volunteer coach, was with him at the time.

Ward would have been in the seventh grade this fall at the school between Canton and Youngstown.
