FITZGERALD -- "It's pretty exciting, being the first to do something," Sebastian Ruff said. "We worked really hard, we set our goals, and even passed those goals which is cool," Ruff added with a big smile.
When Sebastian Ruff enrolled at Fitzgerald High School last summer as a German Exchange Student, he had no idea that he would be a part of school history. Ruff, who is a member of the Men's Tennis Team, helped to guide the Purple Hurricane to a 16-2 mark and the first Final Four appearance in school history.
The two-time region champions set lofty goals this season, but never thought a Final Four would be in their future. "We set some big goals, but we didn't know we would make it all the way to the final four," senior John David Smith said. That could be advantage, because the team is playing with house money, and has no pressure going into this weekend. "We're just going to go out there, have fun, do our best, and see what happens," Smith added.
The Semifinals and Finals will be held on Saturday at Clayton County International Park.
