In Tuesday's Senate hearings into the ever-widening IRS scandal, outgoing IRS chief, Steve Miller, acknowledged that the planted question that broke the story last week was his idea. The "planted question" refers to the way in which the IRS chose to release the findings of the Inspector General's report a week ago Friday.

White House Spokesman Jay Carney had trouble fielding questions from ABC's John Karl on Monday in reaction to the IRS scandal. "Jay, with all due respect," Karl started, "outrage from the President came, you know, last week ... What I'm saying is that there were reports that this stuff was going on almost a year before the Presidential election. How is it that nobody in the Administration has some responsibility?"
