ALBANY, GA. --

Southside Middle School Future Farmers of America are providing a sense of comfort to some needy children.

The group donated a box of toiletry items to the Lily Pad Thursday afternoon.

This is a community service project the students developed as a part of Future Farmers of America week.

The instructor over the program says this donation shows that the students care about their community.

“I think they understand that not everybody has things the way they have it. So I think it shows that they have some compassion for young people like themselves,” said Theresa Sikinyi, Agriculture Science Instructor.

Also as a part of this week’s events, the students had the opportunity to go to the state capitol and meet Georgia state legislatures.
