TIFTON, GA --
Officials confirm Edd Walker, the former longtime Sheriff of Tift County, has passed away.

The Tift County Sherriff’s Office says 84-year-old Walker, the sheriff from 1973 to 1996 passed away Monday morning.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Tift Avenue Church of God.
