John A. Neuenschwander, Ph.D., a retired history professor and municipal judge from Kenosha, Wis., will be the featured speaker for a Georgia Southwestern State University convocation Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. in Jackson Performance Hall. The title of his speech is “Oral History in the 21st Century.”

This event is free and open to the public.

A well known expert and author in oral history circles, Neuenschwander retired in 2008 as a history professor at Carthage College in Kenosha after 39 years on the faculty. Also an attorney, he served as a municipal judge for the City of Kenosha from 1985 to 2012.

Neuenschwander has a Bachelor of Science in history from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio; a Master of Arts in history from the University of Vermont in Burlington; a Ph.D. in history from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio; and he holds a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
