Albany mail processing to end in February

ALBANY, GA -- In addition to a public meeting being held about the
Downtown Post Office
, the United States Postal Service has announced the closing date for the
postal processing facility
in Albany.
Officials with USPS say that all mail processing will cease come February 9th with the final day for maintenance employees being February 23rd. All mail processing will be moved to USPS's Tallahassee facility.
USPS officials added that retail functions of the South Slappey post office will not be affected.
