For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf and For Black Boys Who Have Considered Homicide When the Streets Were Too Much, has been rescheduled to Monday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the ACAD Auditorium located on the campus. The two powerful plays explore the African American experience through a series of dramatic poems.

Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls first appeared on Broadway in 1976, and her experimental choreopoem script continues to engage audiences with its raw and unflinching portrayal of the obstacles and struggles facing African American women.

Keith Antar Mason’s For Black Boys was written as a response to Shange’s script.  It shares the same choreopoem structure and it explores issues of African American male identity, and the pressures and pains that they face in our society.

Tickets are $3 and include the cost of both productions.
