ALBANY, GA -- Lee County Parks and Recreation met Tuesday night to discuss the sale of land near the Westover Place area.
A new development has been scheduled to go up, however concerns arose over room to build. Tuesday night the board chose to sell a strip of land next to the new development to allow for more room to work with.
Lee County Parks and Recreation board member, Ed Duffy, says this is a huge step forward for the county.
"It's all worked out for the best, we sold them 1.5 acres of land which is just a narrow strip of green space, in order for them to have enough room to complete that commercial development," said Duffy.
The new development will provide Lee County shoppers with more options, something Duffy says is continuing to move Lee County into the future.
