Albany police investigating shooting

ALBANY, GA. -- 2nd Update
Albany Police say that they have three suspects in custody and charged with aggravated assault.

The initial investigation revealed that the suspects went to the victim's apartment. When they arrived, one of the suspects got into a struggle with the victim and at some point the victim was shot. The suspects then left the scene in the a white Toyota Camry.

All three suspects who were identified as 23-year-old Brandon Keaton, 22-year-old Contavious Harris, and 30-year-old Chantay Ransom were found and taken into custody.After being interviewed by detectives at the LEC, all were charged with aggravated assault and additional charges are pending.


1st Update
Albany Police say they were dispatched at 7:42 PM to 100 Wescott in response to a shooting.

Officers say that upon arrival, 37-year-old Taneka Porter was found shot once in the left side with a handgun. Porter was responsive at the scene and transported to Phoebe Putney.

Witnesses at the scene say that one black female and one black male fled in a white Toyota Camry.

Albany police are looking into a shooting that happened Monday night in the 100 block of Westcott Lane. The incident occurred in an area close to Gillionville Road.

When FOX 31 arrived to the scene, several homes had been sectioned off with crime tape.

The Albany Crime Scene Unit is on the scene investigating the case.

Police say they will release more information as it becomes available.
