ALBANY, GA. --

Local artists have begun painting a Broad Avenue Bridge mural at the Artpark in downtown Albany. Painters started outlining the artwork on Monday.

This is the first commissioned mural for downtown Albany in more than a decade.

Artists are seeking to help beautify the city, commemorate a historic structure, and expand the artistic culture of Downtown.

Lead artists on this project are Cameron Malphrus and Kris Letlow with help from members of the D'town Arts Coalition and the Georgia Artists Guild of Albany.

The mural can be seen from the alley in the back of the Artpark.
