Department of Labor and South Georgia Technical College to host job fair

ATLANTA, GA --
The Georgia Department of Labor’s Americus Career Center and South Georgia Technical College have announced via press release that they will co-sponsor their annual job fair Thursday, September 6, in Americus.

The expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pope Center on the South Georgia Technical College campus at 900 South Georgia Tech Parkway.

“This event has been very successful for us in previous years, and we think this year’s will be as well,” said Americus Career Center manager Bob Ingle. “We typically have outstanding participation by employers and job seekers, and we expect to have a large variety of jobs available for attendees.”

Officials say the expo will feature more than 40 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. They also remind applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.

Organizers say those expected to participate in the expo include: Americus city Police, Fire, and Human Resources Departments, Becker CPA Review, C-E Minerals, Celebrating Home, CGL Facility Management, Childcare Careers, Cooper Lighting, CSX Transportation, DeVry University, Employment Seeker, Flex-Tec, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Department of Corrections facilities in Albany (P.A.R.C), Columbus, and Forsyth, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Southwestern State University, Global Diagnostic Services, Gulfstream-Savannah, Innovative Senior Solutions, Mary Kay consultant-Fannie Timite, Paxen Learning Corporation, Perdue Farms, Primerica Financial Services locations in Riverdale and Warner Robins, Scentsy Consultant-Joan Wilson, South Georgia Technical College, Standridge Family Satellite Installation, Sumter Retirement Village, Technology One, The Home Depot-Warner Robins, Timco Aviation Services, Tolleson Lumber Company, Transcor America, Trident University, Troy University, Verizon Wireless, Waffle House, Walden University, Walgreens, Waste Industries, and Wyotech.
