DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA --
The Dougherty County Police Department needs your help solving an armed robbery that happened early Saturday at the Fast Lane convenience store on Sylvester Road.
Around 5:45 a.m. two black males, one wielding a gun and the other a stick, walked in wearing bandanas and ordered the clerk to hand over all available money.
"The clerk gave them the money out of the register and then one of the suspects went into the office and the clerk was able to give him the money out of one of the safes," said DCP Sergeant Chad Kirkpatrick.
The robbery only took 45 seconds before the men fled on foot with $1,000 - but not before they left an important clue. Written in the dirt was the number "406" with a pitchfork, a known gang symbol.
DCP called in the Albany Police Department’s Gang Unit to help assist with this case and is asking anyone with information to please come forward or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS, that's 229-436-8477.
