ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Tree Board presented the East Albany Wal-Mart with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful's “Tree Stewardship Award” during a small ceremony Monday afternoon.

The East Albany Wal-Mart was chosen for their willingness to go above and beyond what is required.

"This particular business has developed and designed a plan for tree installation that went over and above the tree ordinance requirements," said Dr. Kay Kirkman, Chairman of the Albany Tree Board.

Dr. Kirkman says other business can get involved by showing their commitment to the beautification of the landscape and maintaining the urban tree forest on their property.
